IGIMS Patna

Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna, is a premier autonomous medical institution established on November 19, 1983. Modeled after AIIMS New Delhi, it serves as a pivotal center for advanced medical education, research, and patient care in Bihar. The institute spans over 130 acres in Sheikhpura, Patna, and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), University Grants Commission (UGC), and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

IGIMS operates a 1,000+ bedded tertiary care hospital, renowned for its comprehensive healthcare services. It houses Bihar's first Eye Bank and Kidney Transplant Unit, along with an Advanced Cardiac Care Center.
