The CAPF AC application form is the first step for candidates aiming to enter the prestigious Central Armed Police Forces as Assistant Commandants. Managed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the application process requires careful attention, proper preparation, and timely action on important deadlines to secure a successful start in one of India’s most respected uniformed services.

CAPF AC Application 2026: Important Dates and Fees

  • For CAPF AC 2025, the application window was open from March 5 to March 25 until 5 PM

  • A short correction window was provided after the application deadline

  • Admit cards were released in late July

  • The written examination was conducted on August 3

  • The application fee was Rs 200 and was non refundable, except for candidates belonging to exempted categories

  • The fee had to be paid online only

  • Candidates should regularly check upsc.gov.in for official updates

  • Written exam results are announced first

  • The Detailed Application Form is released later for candidates who qualify the written examination

CAPF AC Application 2026: Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must hold a graduation degree from a recognized university with no restriction on the stream of study.

  • The age limit is between 20 and 25 years as on August 1, 2025.

  • Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms:

    • Up to 5 years for SC and ST candidates

    • Up to 3 years for OBC candidates

    • Up to 10 years for PwBD candidates

  • Physical standards include:

    • Minimum height of 165 cm for male candidates

    • Minimum height of 157 cm for female candidates

    • Prescribed chest measurements for male candidates

    • Required eyesight standards without the use of visual aids

  • Nationality must be Indian or fall under other categories specified in the official notification.

  • Candidates should keep essential documents ready, including:

    • Matriculation certificate for date of birth proof

    • Valid identity proof

    • Category or reservation certificates, if applicable.

Step-by-Step Application Process

  • Visit upsconline.nic.in and open the section Online Application for Various Examinations.

  • Begin Part I registration by entering personal details such as name as per the Class 10 certificate, date of birth, gender, email ID, mobile number for OTP, address, and educational qualifications.

  • Choose the examination center carefully and apply early since centers are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Submit Part I to generate a Registration ID and password, which are sent instantly to the registered email address.

  • Proceed to Part II registration by uploading a recent passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size.

  • Pay the application fee of Rs 200 for General and OBC candidates. Female, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempt from fee payment.

  • Complete the payment using net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.

  • Preview the application form, submit it, and download the confirmation page.

  • Keep the confirmation page and Registration ID safe for downloading the admit card and for future stages of the examination.

Required Documents and Specifications

  • Upload a recent passport-size photograph sized 3.5 x 4.5 cm, file size between 20 KB and 300 KB, in JPG format.

  • Upload a scanned signature sized between 4 KB and 30 KB, using black ink on white paper.

  • Keep scanned copies of matriculation, 12th, and graduation certificates ready.

  • Arrange caste, disability, and domicile certificates, if applicable.

  • Use tools such as MS Paint or reliable online editors to resize images as per UPSC specifications to avoid application rejection.

  • Ensure your email ID and mobile number remain active for all official communication.

  • Take a printout of the final application form after submission for future reference.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Rushing the application often leads to mismatches in name or date of birth across documents, which can result in rejection.

  • Uploading photos or signatures in incorrect formats is a frequent error.

  • Selecting the wrong category or failing to complete fee payment can invalidate the application.

  • Not reviewing exam center choices or skipping the final preview step may cause irreversible mistakes, as edits are not allowed after submission.

  • Ignoring physical standards or valid age proof can lead to disqualification at later stages.

  • Delaying the application increases the risk of server issues close to the deadline, so applying early is advisable.
