Nationality Requirements for SSC MTS Eligibilty
Applicants must be citizens of India to be eligible for SSC MTS 2026.
Eligibility is also open to subjects of Nepal or Bhutan.
Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanent settlement are eligible.
Persons of Indian origin who migrated from countries such as Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African nations for permanent settlement in India can also apply.
Candidates must present valid proof of nationality, such as a birth certificate or passport, during document verification.
Failure to submit acceptable nationality documents at the time of scrutiny will result in disqualification.
Age Limit Details
The minimum age for all SSC MTS posts is 18 years.
For MTS (Non-Havaldar) posts, the maximum age limit is 25 years as on the application closing date.
For Havaldar posts, candidates can be up to 27 years of age.
Age calculation is done based on the cutoff date mentioned in the official notification, which is usually around 1 August of the recruitment year.

SSC MTS Eligibilty Criteria
Candidates must have passed Matriculation Class 10 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board on or before the application cutoff date.
There is no minimum percentage requirement in Class 10. Applicants only need to have passed the examination.
Candidates are required to produce valid Class 10 passing certificates during the document verification process.
For Havaldar posts in CBIC and CBN, the same educational qualification is applicable, followed by mandatory physical efficiency and physical standard tests.

Physical Standards for SSC MTS Eligibilty Criteria
Havaldar candidates applying under CBIC and CBN must qualify the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). These tests are compulsory for candidates shortlisted after the CBT.

Male: 157.5 cm, relaxable by 5 cm for candidates from specified regions
Female: 152 cm, relaxable by 2.5 cm

Minimum 48 kg
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Male: Walk 1600 meters in 15 minutes

Must satisfy disability-specific eligibility conditions such as both legs affected, blind, or low vision.
